Staying true to humble beginnings

Much of Level Offshore’s success can be attributed to fundamental values forged in the early stages of the company. But you can’t just embed values in an organization from thin air. They have to come from somwhere.

That’s why location matters, Level Offshore’s general manager, Svein Erik Pedersen highlights.

Level Offshore was established in 2018 in Haugesund by two local companies: DeepOcean and Level Personal.

Historically, Haugesund emerged as an important center for herring fishing in the 1800s. Afterwards, industrial growth made shipbuilding a central industry. Today, the economy is more diversified, but remains strongly tied to the maritime sector.

– I think that the combination of hard work and cooperation that allowed this city to emerge, has distilled itself as values being transferred from generation to generation, Pedersen explains.

As Level Offshore continues to deliver and exceed expectations for an increasing number of clients, Pedersen observes the endurance of these values in the company’s staff.

–It’s truly remarkable to see how both local and international staff embody the same hardworking and cooperative spirit, he says.

– We all belong somewhere.

Level Offshore recruits from a local pool of candidates as well as globally. Today, it has employees all over the world.

– With a global perspective comes the danger of forgetting your roots, he says.

Pedersen explains that’s a trap Level Offshore is very aware of.

–We want to stay true to ourselves. That’s why we will always cherish our local community and to our very best to take part in it – any way we can. Our local personell will thank us for it.

– Even our personnel out there in the world, in some sense, can appreciate a company that has strong ties to its local community:

– We all belong somewhere.
